This year brings a different kind of Rosh Hashanah. Months ago we all had hoped for a normal holiday celebration, but here we are at another major holiday and we cannot have our usual large groups of friends and family with us and there is no need to cook massive amounts of food for our immediate families. Many years ago, while a student in law school, I did not have a Shabbat community nearby. Every Friday I made myself a special meal and celebrated Shabbat. Rather than give in to loneliness, I decided that I deserved a special meal. So please cook a delicious meal for yourself and/or your household. Spend Rosh Hashanah being grateful that you can celebrate the holiday.
