For the past 17 years, Paula has traveled the world doing baking and cooking demonstrations for synagogues of all types, Chabads, schools, federations, Jewish community centers, local and national organizations and others in the Washington, DC area, Tennessee, Missouri, Illinois, Michigan, Connecticut, New York, Florida, New Jersey, Missouri, California, Massachusetts, Maryland, New Jersey, Toronto, and China just to name a few locations, before audiences from 30 to 250 people. Organizations hire Paula to do these events as fundraisers.
Paula can come as a speaker or do a full cooking or baking demonstration. Paula has many ideas on how to make an event affordable and how to market as well as execute a successful large event. Call Paula at 301-404-8998 to discuss an event.
Paula will cook and bake for five hours with volunteers and then at an evening event will demonstrate how to make the dishes and serve them to the attendees. Each menu is custom-designed to fit your community’s tastes and upcoming holidays. Paula teaches valuable cooking and baking techniques and explains how to plan for holidays.
The fee is $1500 for up to 60 people and $1600 for up to 100 people. There are additional fees for larger groups. Also additional are direct travel costs to location, including airport transfers and baggage check, and accommodations (if she does not have family nearby). Hosts cover the ingredient costs and do all the food shopping.
Paula Shoyer is also available as a speaker for $1000. For speaking events, the community will prepare food from her books. She will demonstrate one dish if the prep is done for her ahead of time.
For all events, Paula will share her personal story about how a lawyer became a pastry chef and got published, tell funny and inspiring stories from the book tour such as how she came to bake in her grandparents’ former house, and about her unique experience competing on Food Network.
Paula always includes a spiritual and inspirational message, about healing through food and how to make traditional Jewish dishes healthier.
After her presentation, she will sell and sign books. Paula can bring books or you may order the books directly from the publisher and sell yourself. An event is confirmed with a 50% deposit.
Paula is available all year round and gets booked up quickly before the major Jewish holidays.
